STEP BY STEP // "Draw this in your style" image

SO I didn't resist to this "draw this in your style" challenge for I like the work of Pernille Orum (Pernilleoerum on Instagram) and I loved the design of this characters: the attitude, the hair and the colors ... so strong!
I did it in the style I use for my pin-ups.
I started constructing the character with a yellow/ocre pencil. I always start from the volume of the head, the chest and the hips, all tied together through the action line (the line of movement that passes through the whole body)
Then I looked for the action line of arms (image 3). I wanted them to be very straight for putting energy in the pose.
Then I builded the arms and shoulders anatomically. Here you need some basic anatomy knowledge. Not too much, just enough to make the image believable.
Then I went back on the head, adding the elements of the face. I imagined her as a latin girl in a bad mood (I think she's unhappy about not having her underwear on XD)
As I lifted the shoulders, the hair passes on the shoulder letting me play with the masses.
Once I have all the masses and volumes, I start inking. I don't ink ona perfect drawing, or the inking may result cold and stiff. I prefere "drawing with ink" partially, so the result stays fresh. I use Staedler pigment liner for the details of the face, where I need to be precise, and a Sakura brush pencil for the rest.
Hop, to the watercoloring. Always taking care of leaving untouched the parts where I want a white light. Nothing is whiter than the white paper :)
And: I scan the watercolored image and adjust it digitally, adding some little lights on the face.
I still think that Pernille's one was better but I did my best XD
