Hello everyone. Here it is, I've been working on it the last 2 days. This illustration will be printed on 100cm high cardboard and will decorate the bookstores in France and Belgium next March. I'm sooo happy about it :)
SO: the publisher sent me back an old sketch of mine as a reference (the pink one). As you can see, the characters have slightly changed since.
I chose to represent the three girls in their everyday look, and I did a first sketch in my sketchbook.
I modified the sketch redrawing it at my light-table.
I scan and correct in photoshop, then I print it in a larger scale (A4)
I go back to the light-table for the definitive drawing. I don't use ink on this project: everything is pencil, for I want a warmer feel.
I did the definitive drawing on a Guarro watercolor paper, for I do some "lavis" : I mark the shadows and textures with grey watercolor.
Ok now I scan and go back on Photoshop: I put the colors on trying to keep the "hand-made" feel but with a modern touch. At least, I hope :D
Hop, I hope it's done (I wait for the publisher feedback)
Thanx for reading this :) see you pronto!
