Progress on Heaven's Door continues

Hey all!

Thought I'd drop in and give you a progress update. After some lengthy (sometimes heated) debate, we've decided to do a much larger first release than I'd initially planned. I had figured doing 8-10k word scripts for each release would be best, but Slockie convinced me that having a good chunk of game at the start would be better received by you all, so that's what we went with.

We're aiming for about 30k words of script for that first release. I'm about 9k words in now, so we're about a third of the way done there. I should have 30k words done in the next 6 weeks, but it'll take Slockie a little more time to pose and render. Figure another 6 weeks to get through all that, beta test, and have it ready for that initial release.

So, for now, very tentatively, you can expect the first release of Heaven's Door to be mid-November. There's no reason we can't hit that mark unless something wild happens. These beginning scenes don't have nearly the complexity and need for extra creativity that the final chapter of BW did, so I don't foresee being hung up on anything in particular.

Slockie is about 380 renders in on his side of things, and we've brought a music composer on board to create most, if not all, of the music we'll be using in Heaven's Door. He got his first list of tracks to work on yesterday, and we're excited to see where that goes.

Things are going well. A few hiccups and some wrangling of details have happened, but that's to be expected at the start of development. We know what we're doing now, but we're trying to lock down our own expectations for Heaven's Door, and make sure both of us are hitting the mark. Not just for ourselves, but for what we expect of one another.
