I’m starting at a new school after having a really bad experience at the first school. I feel like I learned a ton from my prior experience and am super excited but there’s some part of me that’s in crisis mode. I’m secretly terrified that it’ll be a repeat experience despite my best efforts to do things differently. I guess my question( are how do I get over the fear of getting out there and making friends? I can be a bit socially awkward when first meeting people but come around super quickly.

I started working out and I got my shit together, got a good job and I finally feel happy and at peace. Which deserved bc the dude was a bum and a weirdo, literally helped him get his shit together and all he did is disrespect me unfortunately. Enough bout that, now what I am worried about is that I am scared? To phrase it like that of being intimate with anyone, because of that person. They were a little bit physically abusive to say bc he would throw a tantrum if i didnt do anything with him but also took advantage of me mentally and monetarily bc I payed for everything lol. And now I have a hard time trusting people, I have slowly started going out with my friends again, But I am also scared of being close with them. Any type of intimate affection or relationship is scary, I have been trying my best to slowly creep into it. But it's hard to because my friends think I am a bubbly chirpy and friendly person, so I tend to hide that I am not okay. Which is when I told then everything my ex did, they were so surprised. I just hate touch now and I hate being stared at and I am trying my hardest to be okay. Bc I feel happy, I just don't feel good about everything that happen. And it's fine if I don't bc that person was a bad person, but I shouldn't blame myself right? I just wish I could feel good about hugs without having to worry that someone is having other feelings about me that I don't want. I just want to be everyone's best friend! I just hate being intimate, thinking about having to do that with someone again makes me want to throw up. Which is why I find comfort in your audios! It's like exposure therapy lolol
