I guess that means the shades are not the remnants of the dead who failed to walk the path of blood. They are just former walkers of the path of blood. Does this mean that Rand just created a new shade of himself for anyone who walks this path in the future to contend with? I feel sorry for anyone who ever tries. Same time though, this means that... as harsh and deadly as this mountain is, it really is made for growth and teaching. Might just mean the master of the mountain is not really as much of a tyrant as the others are making him out to be.

Number one is the only one to use a cane. Combined with his various inner monologues about faking expressions im wondering if RG making it through the path of blood is what he gambled everything on. Elhume showing up is kind of a bonus at this point.
