Outfit modularity survey

When creating outfits sometimes parts of the outfit are rigid like metal. I usually remove the bone weight for the physics bones at these areas for maximum immersion. The physics bones are boobs, belly, butt, thighs and calves.
Mixing different outfit can result in clipping if the armor piece that contains the body, mostly the cuirass, has different bone weights than another piece that has no physics. Clipping would mostly be visible with meshes that are very close to the body, for more bulky pieces clipping might not occur.

Do you prefer more modular outfits at the risk of clipping when mixing outfits?
Or do you prefer less modularity with a lower chance of clipping when mixing outfits?

you could do it like other armor mods where the chest place itself voids physics, I know Obi another great Skyrim armor maker usually has two options one is called realistic which does what I said

Separating armor pieces can be good because in certain armors like the faithful knight. If you do too much editing to the sliders the armor pieces can look deformed and theres no way to avoid that.

Just to be sure. We are talking about the annoying thing where, say, trousers only work with the body piece they came with? And are clipping into the body, if combined with a body piece from a different set?

I mix and match outfits all the time so having a lot of modularity is really nice to me since I can only add a few parts if I want or add a whole bunch.
