I became a patreon for this clever post. I had to rewatch the description of the strings and springs to believe it, as you said it is complicated but very relevant. Well done. As a computer science, math, and philosophy graduate I enjoy most of your references, particularly the Nash equilibrium. I am also a fan of urban planning and clever animations, so this hit the spot for me. You could do a whole series of videos on local networks of cars and businesses and people, that flow well for a given volume, but when connected in new ways, don't flow as well anymore. Also gotta thank youtube for recommending relevant videos and channels.

I have heard about electrical transmission wires/networks having similar issues - adding more lines actually reduces the efficiency of the grid.
