Hi everybody,
So, bad news first. I underestimated the task to release the first demo of my next game and I'm afraid it will take at least one more month to get it done properly.
First, the game includes much more customization than before as well as improved animations which require much more time than I had planned. I also had to organize all the PSD from the artist and create some scripts to process those images more easily in the future, which again, delayed my plannings.
Another problem is that the artist also needs a lot of time to deliver the sprites since the new chibi version also increases the requirements. She's currently working on the Vampire design and its chibi version and I'm still missing the first sex scene. So even if I tried to rush the development, I don't think it would work without any sex scenes.
Finally, I have some unexpected increased workload from my normal job which prevents me from spending as much time as I'd like on the development. I'm trying to reduce it little by little with the campaign success but I still have a duty to keep the projects I worked on before then ongoing.
All this leads me to this delay. However, I do not want any patrons to feel cheated, so any patrons having pledge in September will still receive the demo when released in October. You might want to cancel your October pledge if you don't want to be double charged.
I'm really sorry about this inconvenience and my overzealous optimism in planning.
I'm planning to work at the same time on Glassix since it's much faster to create content for it and release a new version for it sooner than planned since a lot of players are expecting it.
Now about what you can expect in Vampire Revenge Rebirth and why it's taking so long :
As you can see in the preview, you'll start the game with your vampire lord and a maid which you'll be able to customize.
A big difference with the first game is that each girl will now have a background which gives her a story and different advantages, as well as disadvantages. It's divided in 3 steps :
1) Her birth which can be from 4 different family status (peasant, commoner, noble and royalty),
2) Her childhood which will be dependent on the birth and which will determine how she was raised (educated or not ? loner or friendly ? etc...)
3) Her job before you captured her which will determine the biggest bonus such as improved resources gathering or improved battle efficiency.
The two other values are an optional trait which gives her even more malus or bonus. For example the nympho trait will let her enjoy any sex related actions without any downside, or a loyal girl will never betray you no matter how poorly you treat her. A lot of possibilities here !
The last value is the girl's personality, which will determine her usual stance (when the artist draw more than 1 stance for the girl) as well as the way she will talk when you interact with her (Similar to Glassix girl's mood)
All of this requires even more specific coding for each background which also explain why it takes me more time than planned. But with this system, it will give the player much more pleasure to go slave hunting and create your pool of slaves to match your expectations. There will be a lot of jobs and each of them will have a use in game.
I'm currently working on the castle management now and there's a lot to say about it too but I'll wait to have a screenshot ready so it's easier to introduce.
