Chapter almost ready! And an upcoming Poll

Short version: It's 2k longer than I originally intended <,<

Longer version: I didn't quite get to all the things I planned on doing within the original wordcount range and couldn't just delay them without causing more issues. Even going through it with more telling thans howing than I would like, it still wasn't the riht general length and pacing. So, here we are : /

Just doing the proofreading now, so it might be another hour, probably less.

As aan aside, I meant to post about it last week, but forgot after being distracted. But I wanted to know whether people would prefer more frequent chapters equalling the same content volume spread over the week, or sticking with the 7.5k we are at now.

The way I see it, one of the pros as a reader would be being able to read more of the content in situations where I am running behind schedule. having 80% of the equivilent chapter already out, means you are just waiting on the final 20% instead of literally all of it. Just as an example.

A pro for me as the writer would be more free advertising ont he Recently Updated lists where I post my work.

Another pro is how it might make my writing time a bit more flexible. I know it sounds weird, but writing a single 2.5k chapter is faster than 2.5k of a larger chapter. At least for me it is. As best I can tell, it is because of how my motivation builds as I pass certain incremental thresholds.

I also get more done if I don't look at RR stats. Cuz gosh dang does the ranking slipping get depressing and demotivating. You get a string of 'good' ratings, then a single low one that tanks it and leaves it worse off than before.

A con might be the shift in structuring for the same volume of content. i don't know if people have particularly noticed, but I try to rwwap things up a little or end on a one liner at the end of each part.  Not sure how that might affect things overall if I do it up to four times as often.

I have been practicing shorter form content as prep for my next project some time down the line, so I am reasonably confident in being able to deliver. If the results of the Poll I put out later this week are mixxed, I will probably do a trial run to test the waters while also providing a comparison chapter at the end of that week or fortnight. Depending on whether I got the full 15k of pieces or just 7.5 ish.

So yeah, something to think about. hehe.

OH also, I have more Art incoming. Elynelle has already finished a concept piece for Lash, and is working on a combined scene with Lash, Tim, pete and Suzy now, and a second one of them is coming after that one. :P

I'll upload the Lash concept piece and the first family one on the same day and make sure to post a message letting everyone know.
