May update

Hi everybody! happy workers' day! Saddly I dont have something to test right now, but I do have some delicious news, on the last update I mentiones something I started working after Gemini droped some great news and as he already make it public after testing the stuff I can post it now. 

I'm working on updating the 3d models for RE2, the main idea is to leave behind the squared looking limbs and to make something in the vein of RE Deadly Silence where the models are more rounded and detailed. Using the actual DS models as a base I already have most of the main cast put togheter but still missing some texture fixes. Once again just like in the DS version of RE1 the new models will involve the human like characters, the B.O.Ws on the other hand will recibe an update on theyr UV the make a better use of the textures, the original UVs of the first 3 games was very slopy, but  its understable as all this tech was new at the time.

And example of the models UV and they slopyness.

Also now the models will have actual fingers instead of mittens!

The idea is to have this ready for the PC version of RE2SHDP but it will be realsed stand alone if its ready before the SHDP as it should also work (in theory) with the current version of Classic Rebirth.

Talking about SHDP I'm also working on that eternal task that a lot of people wanted to make but never finished for one reason or another: making a clean version of the RE3 epilogues, succeded to finish the ones that werent made before and I will still make the other ones as the idea is to use this freely for the SHDP and to make them public for people to make translations.

In other news still working on the missing sfx for the next game boy color mod update, fixed most of the repoterd errors in texture and models, Mechanical Paladin is still working on the music for the cutscenes.

Thinking on releasing REDS mod for my birthday this month, still not sure will post about this in the next days.

Lastly, wife advised to create a facebook page to reach people who doesnt use Twitter that is my main place to share stuff so I did it, because why not? So if any one is more active on facebook there you have:

RE2 already has a bigger Poly limit than RE1 as is (mostly because the models use quads and no just tris), but CR dx9 will make sure the game will work fine with updated models. We are aiming to get the definitive version of RE, putting all our efforts thofggheter.

I'm also really glad that you'll work your magic on RE2. I know that the number of polygons are limited, but will that change once Gemini update RE2 Classic Rebirth to directx9 ?

Yes that's already possible, as the Classic Rebirth patch lets you mod the text of the cutscene (mostly used in translations) we just need a transcript of the cutscenes

Do you think it could be possible to add subtitles when character are talking in cutscenes? I remember that in Deadly Silence it was like this. Is this possible to implement?
