I too had to read the book for school & didn't like it, like u said most characters not likeable. I watched the 1939 film version with Laurence Olivier & Merle Oberon, wasn't too crazy about that either. I will definitely see the movie, because it looks like one of those big ,colorful, historical movies. I hope it is better than the book

It’s one of the books I was forced to read in school and didn’t care for it, so it’s probably why I haven’t liked any of the adaptations 🤣

When you watch other adaptations, don't skip the 1939 movie, starring Sir Laurence Olivier, Merle Oberon, and David Niven. It's one of the "classic films of 1939." Also, if you're interested in the source of the "Cruel Intentions" plot, watch "Dangerous Liaisons" (1988), starring Glenn Close, John Malkovitch, Michelle Pfeiffer, Uma Thurman, and Keanu Reeves. The same story is also depicted in "Valmont" (also 1988), starring Annette Benning, Colin Firth, and Meg Tilly.

I loved this movie! It was.so beautifully done I had to seeing it the next day. We read the book in my junior year in high-schoo English class. I vaguely remember watching the original in black and white!! Please keep doing these reactions Z and A!!
