Zach, I totally appreciated your long talk about booze. As much as I love indulging in wine and cocktails it does seem to have permeated so much of our social lives. My husband worked in the industry up until recently so a lot of our friend group is in the sales/restaurant side of things so every social event is dominated by its presence. I do enjoy it still but have made a very active effort when at social events to slow down my pacing. I like taking smaller pours of wine and sipping occasionally. Not as easy to do with the cocktails tho 🤣 Your reflections made me think fondly on friendships back in high school where you would hang out with friends without that being a factor. Going to the movies, the mall, playing video games etc. But that’s also kind of an answer. To find non alcohol related things to do with friends. One of my friends and I go to the spa for a day roughly every month where we just get to relax in the hot tubs and talk. I’m in a bowing league every week and have gaming nights online with a group. It’s definitely all about honing those extracurricular activities I think. Always good to find some balance in life!
