Ok. I'm new here. Just watching everything. Thats being said. I really liked that movie. I, too, have watched it way more times than I'm willing to admit.

So I just watched RWRB! Alastair's mentioned it a couple times (at least) over the last few weeks and I always intended to watch it... I was just worried I might be disappointed. And it was great! I had tears in my eyes more than once Alastair! In the first 5 minutes I didn't like the pretence but it had to be setup... the opening was fun and funny and then I got the closeted gays vibe and then was totally drawn in by the self-discovery. Then the passion and -oh my- the main sex scene was sensual! Did you notice just enough of Henry's knee and thigh so I knew exactly what was going on - it was accurate (enough). I do feel like I've been through the ringer - Henry's anguish is relatable for anyone whose family isn't open and accepting. Uma Thurman as Mom when Alex was coming out was so touching! (And yeah Zach when I came out to my Mom at first she didn't believe me and then insisted I tell her I was having safe sex *wince*) So now I'm spent. (Emotionally). A double feature - first RWRB and then your reaction. I'm so glad you guys reacted and recommended this!

I have watched this more times than I am willing to admit! It is a fantastic movie. As I am older than you guys, perhaps it means even more to gays my age. This is such a positive movie for every queer teenager, struggling with their place in the world. BTW...love you guys!

The scene at the NYE party where they're both standing as the rest of the crowd goes down is the gym dance scene from West Side Story.

I'll fully confess I don't do streaming so I haven't seen it yet. But I've seen 20 six minute clips so I have a good idea. Very sad. You can see the pain in Henry's face as he falls in love but knows it can never be. Like Alastair I cried over a few scenes. And when they played Falling In Love With You I immediately thought of your engagement.

Bobby

yall are a Hoot !

This is absolutely one of The best Rom/Come that have come out in a long time. I've seen it 3 times already! ❤❤❤👍

I watched this movie for you and I don't regret it, it was really good and your reactions were even better so thank you

IsaMeurice

I love this movie. Glad you guys enjoyed it. Loved your reactions so much!

I watched the movie before I read the book and enjoyed both thoroughly. One great thing about reading the book is that you get all of the emails between Henry and Alex that are only referred to in the movie, and they’re terrific. I totally understand all the changes that were made for the movie in order to get it in under two hours. Now after watching this I’m looking forward to all the upcoming reaction videos you have planned.

Anyone else having trouble with the link?

Loved the book and I've lost count of how many times I've rewatched the movie. This will join my top ten favorite gay movies along with Big Eden, Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss, Jeffery, Love Simon, Home at the End of the World, Beautiful Thing, Torch Song Trilogy, The Sum of Us and The Broken Hearts Club.

I'm going to watch this tonight. I didn't have a chance to watch it last night.

The sweetest

ZPG

I LOVE that

ZPG

The cheesiness always makes me cringe, but in the best way. I think I'd say B+

ZPG

That was fun guys

Brad Harper

Of topic but painting behind bed looks great

I thought it was just like any Hallmark Movie only with Gay Characters. They meet, tension, they fall in love , something breaks them apart. They reunite, only the couple has sex.

Jimmy

I love the way Alastair cry’s, he is a sweet heart

Brad Harper

I did enjoy it yes

Brad Harper

Gonna watch the movie myself first then come back to watch your reaction 😃

Jesus

I loved this great Rom-Com! Hope to see what you two watch next.

In the book, the is an epilogue where Henry moves to Brooklyn to run a gay homeless youth foundation and Alex goes to law school there.

Wayne Knight

Same. I want to assume it is a delay in patreon giving the authorization to access the private links on Vimeo

I thought I was going to hate this movie at the beginning with the giant cake falling on them - SO cheezy. But I ended up really enjoying it. Circumstances were different (obviously), but as with most queer people, I could definitely relate to Henry feeling like he couldn’t ever come out. One plot point kind of bothered me - if Henry had taken his family’s advice and denied the emails were his, how could this be believed when Alex had already admitted they were together? But overall, an enjoyable experience. I’d give it a solid B.

ChristopherADK

Absolutely loved the movie! Working thru the adversity as they did was very inspirational!

Hey Zach! I just joined the Patreon and when I clicked on this video, it said it couldn't be found on Vimeo. Any idea what's going on, or am I just drunk? Lol

Chris Metzger

Haha it was very relatable, from the commoner perspective at least. Just the new relationship butterfly feels

ZPG

I know Alastair wants to finish the book so he can do a movie vs book discussion. Best thing you mentioned was Miguel not being in the book!!!!

ZPG

I’ve watched it twice and it is amazing. And believe or not, I did think about you guys when they were having a kind of long distance relationship at the very beginning, the texting back and forth between them. Glad that you guys actually felt that too lol.

Okay. My thoughts on the movie. First, I loved it. I thought it was a really good adaptation from the book. Obviously the book has a lot more stuff in it. The two things that annoyed me were the horrendous green screen when Alex and his father are sitting on the balcony at the White House. Apparently that was where the funding seemed to drop. 😂 The other part is, in the book, the thing you complained about, Alex making the public statement without consulting Henry, didn't happen. In the book, there's a whole bunch of extra stuff that goes on after the initial outing, but Alex does not make a public address until after he and Henry band together and confront the monarchy. I would recommend that you guys read the book (or as I did listen to the audio book). It has a lot more character development for the side characters including a sister for Alex who was cut from the movie. In the movie, it's implied that Henry was the one who fell for Alex first, but in the book, very different. The Miguel character also doesn't exist in the book and it's a much bigger conspiracy that results in Alex and Henry being outed with far more sinister intentions behind the actions. I will say that probably the most unbelievable part in both the movie and the book is that Texas turns blue in an election where there's no way other states that went red wouldn't have also been blue. But again, overall I loved both the book and the movie and I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. Especially Alastair if he's watched it so many times! 😂💖
