Excellent bit of tech here. You should do one on how to use a scope to identify video signals (RGB, composite etc) when people are testing their gear ๐

Glad I'm not the only one who's sat there watching the "no signal" bouncing, wondering if it will ever hit the corner perfectly! The first DVD I ever bought was a dodgy copy of the first Tomb Raider film from Minehead market whilst on holiday - and when I played it on my original model PS2 it played in perfect quality, but Black and White. Can I infer from what you said here that the reason for this is it was likely encoded in an NTSC standard, but just with region lockling set to zero so it would play here? Legit DVDs that I bought soon after played fine, so it wasn't the PS2 or TV.
