The Vectrex Story

GOOOOD LORRRRDYYYYYY, it feels like a while since I did one of these, and yes, that's because it HAS been.

I've got a tonne of videos that have been building up in the back of my brain for years, and it's time to start ticking them off. This is one of those videos.

The Vectrex is a console that has always fascinated me. Mainly because it looked like a miraculous item from the future, yet was released in the early 80s. How could a machine that mimicked the arcade so well, be on our...

Also, this monitor is absolutely fantastic. If you have any questions, drop them below and I'll tackle them!

Thanks! Pete x

Knock off Game Boys

I've had these consoles laying around for a while. Probably too long.... and if things are left for too long - as we all know - they sometimes break. I really didn't want to have to purchase any of these again, SO, it was time to make a video about them.

I also had to borrow a few from Stuart Ashen, because if I'm gonna make a video about knock off Game Boys, then I really need to cover them all.

Hope you folks enjoy.

Pete :)

Welcome to the Evolution. The evolution of Sega. In this case meaning NO evolution, as the Master System Evolution, if anything, is the exact opposite of evolution.

This 286

I was playing around with an Epson 286 the other day and happened to stumble across a piece of software I really didn't expect to find. So I made a video about the whole thing.

Enjoy!

Vulcan Flipstart

I feel like I might be emerging from a cloudy fog, to a clearer land where more videos can be made.

No promises, but I feel like a new era of videos is looming. Maybe, perhaps, hopefully.

Here's one, it's about the Vulcan Flipstart, an Ultra Mobile PC from 2007 that was pretty darn cool tbh.

Enjoy!

Much love.

Why did we Abandon 4:3?

Hey folks!

Sooooo sorry for the slow uploads. I'm totally flat out at the moment trying to keep on top of Barcadia stuff. Every moment of time I get away from the bar, I'm trying to pour into video content, but at the moment, it's not as much as I'd like!

So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for hanging in here and continuing to support me through this endeavour.

I'll give you folks a proper update on Barcadia, etc very soon. There's lots happening and it's all excitin...

Octanerdle: The Amazing Survival Story of Alison Botha

Hey folks,

So, Octy and I did another podcast episode, however, this one covers a sensitive topic. Therefore we wanted to drop it to you folks first, and get your feedback on whether you think we approached it with the correct amount of sensitivity.

It's about Alison Botha, who survived a whole host of horrific treatment in 1994. Her abusers were sent to prison, but that still doesn't even start to make up for what they did.

If you get a chance to listen, let me know w...

Secret Arcade Games

Hey folks,

Things are still a bit slower than usual around here, on account of running an Arcade Bar and general life things. However, here's a video I wanted to touch on about JAMMA and some of the secret games that were perhaps influenced by it.

Speak soon,

Why we switched to WASD

Hey folks!

Hope all is well with you.

Apologies I didn't get this one out earlier. There were some complications with "copyright" as the original uses a few -actual- music tracks, but the licence only extends to one video.

So, here's a slightly edited Patreon version of my latest video.

Hope you enjoy

This Cursed Game

Dancing Monster on the C64 is..... well it's something.

This video explores the game and importantly, just why and where the hell it came from. Because this is a mystery which has plagued humankind for decades.

Big thanks to Octavius and Robbotron for their help on this.

Grooveshark

Hey folks!

Long time no see. Hope you're doing well. Apologies for the slow video output of late.

This one is about Grooveshark; the music streaming service which launched in 2006 but had died by 2015, thanks in part to Spotify, but also a whole heap of other shady goings on.

Hope you enjoy!

Hey folks,

Apologies for the slow output at the moment. This whole Barcadia thing has been consuming ALL my time. Last night the entire cellar flooded, so I was bailing frozen water out for most of the day.

ANYWAY, A couple of month's back, I revisited the Home Computer Museum in The Netherlands, and things have certainly changed. INCLUDING, the mighty Aesthedes computer.

PushingUpRoses Podcast

Hey folks,

I recorded a podcast for PUR's Patrons last night and I thought you might appreciate it too. So here it is.

Be warned, EXTENSIVE amounts of topics were covered (including the horror of British 80's cartoons), some with less sanity than others.

Also, she's also a patron of my channel, so be warned.

I've been busy

Hey folks. So firstly, apologies for the lack of content. I've got a proper video queued up for next week.

Secondly, for the last 9 months or so, I've been working on getting an Arcade Bar up and running in Norwich, and today I launched the Kickstarter for it. It's a collaboration with Ashens, Dazz from Did You Know Gaming and Samantha Whitehouse from Slice + Dice (a bar in Norwich), and it's going to be great.
