Page 72 Panel 2 Text poll
Added 2017-07-12 00:17:43 +0000 UTCSo, commentators on page 72 have shown themselves in favor of.. every option for Amber's thought/speech bubbles in panel 2. Thus, I've decided to have a very quick vote on the matter.

On designing by committee: The only other main comic poll, IIRC, was whether Rika should loose her socks or not, which really.. was not plot important. All the other content polls were for WoD, which has always had votes determine where it goes next. It is something to be wary of, however! I admit that I might have gotten a little too eager with the poll button this time.

2017-07-12 16:47:45 +0000 UTCEh, the plant mostly stopped between the first Amber scenes and the more recent scene – she was resting before the plant nudged her. It also didn't care all that much if Amber understood it or not - how 'loud' it talks effects how long Amber lasts, so if it really wanted to make sure Amber had the presence of mind to understand it would have started whispering. On the bubbles: I'm only referring to what is already going on in the original page - Amber briefly rambling emotionally about guilt that may or may not be rationally warranted for her to have ("Rika I'm sorry" or the equivalent). The plant has momentarily paused after getting very tight, like a rollercoaster slowing right before the big drop, but even then Amber is very much out of it. She already felt guilty about the airship crash, there are no 'new' thoughts or opinions being formed right now. Which does bring up the point that having grgling and thought bubbles would put a lot of emphasis on her thoughts, probably too much. If we did both grgling and thoughts I don’t think the thoughts would be in a bubble, we’ll try a few things. I’m not guaranteeing we’ll do what this poll says, but we’ll try it out.

2017-07-12 16:42:08 +0000 UTCI have to comment that this is becoming dangerously close to a comic designed by committee with all these poles, and I highly suspect everyone voting for thought bubbles either don't understand what's going on or have never experienced large amounts of pain or pleasure in their lives. Otherwise I'm unsure as to how they expect coherent thought to even be a thing at this point. In actuality if what Amber was experiencing since the scene switched the first time was continuous, she should barely be able to talk when Rika spots her, but that's fine for the sake of plot. Now? What's the point? And this isn't even going into the importance of "show, don't tell" and unnecessary exposition. What could a thought bubble tell us that the panels aren't already? "Oh, I'm having an orgasm." "Oh this is tight." "Oh I'm being eaten." We can SEE that. Or if it's the plants communicating again.. well.. why would they? Maybe it makes sense before, but now it's like a spider explaining it's plot in detail to a fully wrapped up fly that it's already bitten into.

2017-07-12 15:45:25 +0000 UTCWell, I suppose no one was in favor of "no noise, no thoughts - silent panel". EDIT: Oh wait, someone sort of was, depending on how close to death Amber was. Right then, I guess like this comment if you favor "Silent Panel".
