How Should We Do Future Minis?
Added 2017-05-22 00:45:40 +0000 UTCI've been speaking with Eldrik about possibly changing what we do with the minis in order to facilitate more main comic pages and/or color, and wanted to hear what you think about it.
Options:
A) Keep things as they are - 3ish page mini comic every month., etc.
B) 4x Voter Sketches instead of minis. Basically, this would be the same as the Director sketches (including 'upgrade' option), except we would decide the top 4 submissions with a poll each month.
Voter Sketches would be available to all patrons, and possibly posted publicly as well (or maybe just the upgraded pages?)
The director tier / sketches would work the same as before. We would still complete the Wheel O' Doom series, but it would take awhile.
This change would free up Eldrik's time, allow us to create art for several fetishes each month, and save some funds that would then go into color or more page(s) per month (it depends, during sexual content scenes we'd probably lean towards more color).
C) 2x Voter Sketches and Slow Roll Mini - Basically, we'd have 2 voter sketches each month, and a mini comic vote once every X months (3? 4? 6?). We'd post a single page of the mini comic each month. This doesn't save as much time or money as option (B), but would allow for actual comics instead of just image sets.
Of course, covers would be posted with the first page of each mini (not counted). X would be equal to how long we wanted the slow roll minis to be.
D) Other - Describe some other idea in the comments!

At the same time a lot of people didn't join for a needlessly complex 4 way voter sketch thing. So whateve change you make is going to disappoint someone and I for one would be fine with it being a more sporadic vote.

2017-05-26 12:36:12 +0000 UTCSo, the poll seems to be a tie between sticking with minis and switching to voter sketches, with some folk suggesting various forms of alternating months (generally with off months being more focused on the main comic). I'm thinking of alternating between regular grim minis and 3x voter sketches.. The voter sketch months would better facilitate doing more main comic and/or more color while still having content submissions / voting. As the patreon is monthly, I want there to be a monthly vote.

Considering that every other month in this idea would already be a good chance of extra pages, it doesn't exactly feel balanced if main comic additions show up each month. That also may get tiring for Eldrik, so I'm not sure personally

Odd numbered months (January, March, etc) get mini comic voting and creation, and even numbered months (February, April, etc) get to vote on extra pages or a small scale "color drive" type thing to update the comic as a whole (this can be used on mini comics as well)

Maybe its 4 pages of full color for sexy time, 6 pages of mostly line art if its adventuring and dialog? I don't know how the funding works really

On the other hand, an additional page a month leaves more to be colored... there might be a good balance to be found, but it'd be interesting. That being said, I'd really like more main comics.

2017-05-22 01:40:43 +0000 UTCThe main comic is why I'm here, so more main comic is fine by me. The question I really wonder is what is the goal page wise, 6? I'd like color as well, even in the non sexy times. Some of the big scenery images would be good to really establish the setting.

2017-05-22 01:31:23 +0000 UTCI had thought about that awhile back, but the issue was that patrons pay each month so I want there to be a monthly poll/vote. Otherwise you might have someone join month 2 and find out the next chance to vote on anything is several months away.
