Sounds like right up my alley but you're right I very rarely read something - keep it in your pocket if we ever start reading something and recommend it, who knows

Well the manga at least, the anime adaptation has horrible animation, but the story is during the Warring states era of China, and it's about a kid who want to become the Greatest General of his time. It has the best battles I've seen in manga or anime, and actual strategies. I know it's really unlikely you'll read it, and I'm sure anime won't be voted in because of it's quality, but the recomendation is there.
