They know it's horseshit, but they also know he'll do it. A big issue I had is how everyone is just there to show off how strong goku is, but if you really think about it, if they know that goku will manage, then acting this way make a lot more sense. ... This whole thing is just dbza that pretends to have serious dialogue.
