SEP. Secret Sketches + Upcoming Vlog
Added 2023-09-24 19:18:24 +0000 UTCSeptember has been full of quite a few events: multiple deadlines, new projects, a car accident, buying a new car, struggling with the many tasks that come with buying a new car, dating ups and downs, experimenting with new procreate brushes, learning how to knit, pickleball, and pikmin. I am excited for fall and I have this feeling something exciting is going to happen...? (This patreon above all else is a manifestation space so I'm manifesting Good Excitement in Fall 2023. Feel free to manifest something you want in the comments)
As always, here's a breakdown of what is in today's gallery!
Images 1-4: two finished illustrations and two pages compiling sketches (which will become finals) for a book project I'm illustrating. These illustrations are all two-color, and I'm utilizing those two colors + black in order to make many many other hues. It's amazing what two colors and black can do.
Images 5-6: One alternate sketch and the chosen sketch (with color roughed in) for a book jacket project
Image 7: A sketch and color study for another book cover I'm working on
Images 8-9: just some stuff for fun. I have been rewatching adventure time and watching the new Fionna and Cake show as its been coming out and it's really making me remember how much this art style influenced me throughout my childhood and the middle of college. I feel like it's been a while since I felt excited to draw in my own time, and thanks to adventure time, I think I've found that again, to some degree. :-)
Images 10-15: A few screenshots from the latest vlog I filmed and am editing! Honestly, the week that I filmed was filled with a lot of stressful moments and I felt like I only worked/went to the gym--but there are some times with friends I was able to capture that are helping me to remember the high points of the week. This vlog will probably be up in about a week if I can continue editing at the rate I am!
I could probably talk exclusively about the Fionna and Cake show for multiple paragraphs, but I'll spare you for now and save that for an upcoming podcast. ;-o

I hope things work out better for you with the car! Manifesting that for you! I also have a question about smth you may of answered once before. Your experience with illustration & college with it? Ik a lot of artists struggle after college & the way things have been recently it’s hard to decide if it is a degree worth pursuing (my friend got a graphic design degree even & still can’t find work) so I was curious about maybe your experience with all of that? Like college life & then a bit afterwards. What made you want to pursue an art degree & would you recommend it?
