August Secret Sketches: Working on Work Stuff

Hiiiii :-)

Like I stated in my last sketchbook post, I wanted to do an entirely different post for my work-related secret sketches (as well as some fun stuff). I had some deadlines back to back in August, so combined with the time I took off to travel this month, it felt like a lot near the second half of the month. But we're in the clear (for now) (and until all the clients inevitably get back to me with revisions at the same time...which is currently happening as of today via my gmail inbox).

Images 1-7: all work-related stuff. I'm illustrating a few picture books, a few nonfiction books with art throughout, and a few books covers. I don't think I've ever had so many projects at one time, but it's all truly manageable. I wouldn't have been able to take this much on while I was working on those graphic novels 😵‍💫 If you'd like to know more about any of the projects specifically I'd be happy to elaborate (as much as I legally can)!

Image 11: feeling sick as I know I have to inevitably talk about this. Yes I am reading the A Court of Thrones and Roses series. No I am not enjoying it. But also. I kind of am. Reading this series is giving me a sense of nostalgia for young adult series I would read as a kid/teen. Do I think the books are well written? Not at all. It makes me cringe every other page. But I continue to indulge because I also feel a little giddy when I read it. And hey, yeah, I will admit that Rhysand's character is keeping me going. And yeah I will admit that he is sexy!!!!! and I am addicted to him!!!

On that note I am taking my exit.
