Cats being so cute and the generalized idea of them being mean/evil is like the most obvious reason to make Aoba/Sly a kitty and also catboys ๐ I think their athleticism fits the type of character that Aoba is too
Koujaku could have been a bird too since his name literally means sparrow ๐ญ but his personality is so dog like it was just a must. Also thought it was very fitting the idea of werewolves and moons because of his berserker mode. He is loyal to his โpackโ, and also a lone wolf because of his past u know ๐ง
Noiz as a rat doesnโt even need an explanation itโs literally so him, and Clear is a bat because of hearing. Thought of him being an android bat but his wings are not perfect/got damaged with time, and pretty impractical so when he tries to fly heโs clumsy and thatโs when he falls off the rooftop ๐ญ a moot suggested that he may be a real bat and he got his wings cut or smth so he uses robotic ones, although he canโt get very used to them. Wings being cut off seems more fitting of mink imo but honestly take the hc you like the most.
And Mink is a golden eagle cuz him also being so bird related, like he literally has feathers in his hair ๐ญ A big ass bird of prey was just ideal for him, and also since everyone else has fur, itโs nice to have something a bit more different
