Added 2017-09-28 00:50:36 +0000 UTCIt's no secret that I recently flew out to the LMG offices, as evidenced by an impromptu appearance on the WAN show with Linus, Luke, and co-guests Justine (of iJustine) and "Keys" of NCIXTechTips. The video embedded in this post is the WAN show; I appear around 20:00 to discuss Coffee Lake rumors, Ice Lake, and other industry topics.
Linus spoiled at the beginning of the broadcast that LMG brought Justine, Keys, and me out to the offices to be guest judges on Tech Showdown. This series has been around a long time for Linus, but needed a revival -- it's a bit different from Scrapyard Wars, but has similar shooting style and editing. Based on previous Tech Showdown episodes, the series has historically been about two competing teams (often Linus + Luke vs. someone else) putting together systems under a certain theme. One of the previous shoots was a Christmas theme and, although I can't talk about the theme of this new series, it does have one.
My job was mostly to judge the work of others -- so my job, then. I was joined by Keys and Justine in scoring submissions from each team, and I'm told that LTT should have a multi-part series of the show. It was a ton of fun to be involved in -- we'll let you all know when Linus publishes the content.
Other than that, I'm back home now -- as is Andrew -- so we're already ramping production. We shot and edited two videos today, with two more in the pipe for production tomorrow. Content will be coming out rapidly now!
