It was kind of cool to see Joe Bob give the communist party props.

One more little interesting side-note on this story is it is actually credited with and connected to inventing the idea of being "woke" ... it was this incident that caused Folk/Blues artist Lead Belly to write the song Scottsboro Boys in 1938 and at the end of the song talking with the Smithsonian he essentially tells people to stay "woke" and "keep their eyes open" when they are down in Alabama. I didn't know this story. Also, it never occurred to me that voting (correctly) to acquit could result getting murdered. But after JB said it, it hit me hard. Thanks for the education. As a liberal yankee, at some point JB is going to have to remind me why I shouldn't hate the south, These same states are still trying to prevent teaching how history impacted black folks. They're also implementing anti-gay discrimination laws. It's "woke" to oppose their hateful agenda.
