Happy Splatterday Night, Patreon Pals! Tonight I'm sharing an episode from JB's Dark Period, aka "Hollywood Saturday Night". The story on these is basically that a certain TNT exec really took a disliking to JB and decided he needed to be more "female friendly". They started filming in El Lay instead of Texas, took away his signature wardrobe, and made him show movies that you don't typically associate with Joe Bob. They also came down really hard with censoring the jokes he could tell, so it's basically a watered down version of our beloved Cowboy Critic...and NOBODY wanted that. HSN was the beginning of the end of JB's run on TNT, so even though these are still fun to look back at, they are bittersweet to me bc I can't help thinking about how this was right before we lost him for a while.
But we shan't dwell in the negative...Our boy is back now, and we have him hosting these highfalutin classics to enjoy! :)
I hope you're having a wickedly wonderful weekend, and I wish you a very Happy Mother's Day!! (The Troma version, not the remake... ;) xoxoxo
