A Strange Shotgun Slug from LATVIA - Tested!
Added 2023-02-17 01:21:25 +0000 UTCA kind viewer named Mike sent us some slugs I have seen before but could never find in the store. These are called DDupleks Kaviar slugs. Gregg and I test them out and try to figure out what exactly they would be used for.

I'm not sure why they kept the velocity so low on these. They could have cranked it up a bit to 12 or 1300 fps. We haven't tested out the Steelhead slugs yet but I think they are the same ones you are referring too.

And what an effective wad design - low recoil and very effective in the short range home defense role. Would cause horrible wounding in some hunting situations though. There was a time when some cops were at the range shooting DDuplex slugs - made out of pellet shaped steel with polymer driving bands - the Europeans are way way ahead of us in shotgun slug technology. And our ammo companies have ignored all of that to their discredit. Those Kaviar slugs and wads are truly amazing. Wish we could get those wads over here. Best Regards, Steve

It might not over-penetrate, but you're left with a lot of cleaning up if you shoot an intruder with this hahaha. Thank you for the video, and a good weekend to everyone
