What if Lehigh Defense made a 12ga Xtreme Penetrator?
Added 2020-10-07 01:59:41 +0000 UTCAlexey from Russia apparently was impressed so much with the Xtreme Penetrators that he decided to machine his own and send us some for testing. For kicks I wanted to see how close I could get to the velocity of the 10mm version of 1500 fps, and got very close.
Had a few minor hiccups with some of the wads, but there is no loading data for these at all. Maybe LD will see the potential of these and start producing them.

It would be interesting to know what twist rate the stable ones were spinning at; I suppose it could be calculated from the lines on the back of the slug and the frame rate, or some such.

Alexey should come visit the US and spend some time in a machine shop; he could make some serious money selling those slugs. These might be an instant hit with LE and MIL if they can reliably penetrate engine blocks. I am anxious to see what the 3 flute versions do.
