Would be interested in seeing a video of Lando interacting with his mates outside F1, particularly his childhood friend Max Fewtrell. He has some videos with him on his own channel called Quadrant. Could be entertaining to see a potential difference in communication style with him compared to other F1 drivers

2024-07-13 23:15:43 +0000 UTCCouple points you nailed - Alex's maturity. Alex ended up as the "adult" in his family while still in his teens when his mum went to jail. Not only did he take over looking after his younger siblings, he managed to keep his racing career going by approaching sponsors in Thailand and really utilizing that side of his heritage. He races under a Thai flag but he is indeed Thai-British. He also HATES media more than most drivers and I suspect it's partly due to the way they treat this aspect of his history. The cultural interplay you mention is also interesting - George comes from a less monied background than Alex and Lando. Not poor or anything, but not the insane wealth of Lando's family either. Re the stuff under the surface with George - yes again. He seems to work hard to strap his emotions down until the moment he can't, and it all comes out when he does really well or really disappointingly in a race - he last cried iirc really obviously after he crashed out at Singapore last year when chasing Lando for a podium. Crying George has become a bit of a meme but it just makes me like him more :)
