Been getting some requests for these guys -- so I broke down what I thought of their communication in this "ask a F1 driver" series.

Lando Norris & Oscar Piastri - Communication Review (Uncut: 28 Minutes)

Also thanks for the F1 content, I must admit I give up and unsubscribe when it's all kpop stuff. If you're doing F1 again I'll stay :)

Oscar has relaxed a lot for a couple reasons. One is obviously just experience. Two is that he's having a fairly successful first few years in the sport. Third, and most importantly imo, when Oscar first got into F1, he kept his head down and stayed very uncontroversial, because the story of how he got his seat is a bit wild. He did nothing wrong, but the team he was a reserve for, Alpine, was and is kind of a clown show and they fumbled things so badly they lost both Fernando Alonso and Piastri almost at the same time. If you ever read about it you honestly wonder how they can make such a mess of things, but they did. Anyway, Oscar took the underperforming Daniel Ricciardo's seat at McLaren, copped a bit of hate for that and for "betraying" Alpine (which he didn't, he was a free agent because they didn't sew up his contract properly, that's a whole story in itself) and if you ever google Oscar Piastri and Twitter, you will probably see The Tweet Heard Around The (F1) World - Alpine tried to strong arm Oscar into staying by announcing him as their driver when he had already told them he was leaving. Shit was nuts for ages, there was a legal battle over it and Oscar stayed absolutely silent throughout. Basically he came to McLaren with huge expectations on him after the fight the two teams had over him and it wasn't until he started showing good form that his funnier, drier side came out. He is still very cool and calm, his radio calls are usually very even keeled, but he's a funny guy when he feels relaxed enough to be.
