Wow what a great comment! I don't know as much about Tae as some of the other members so this was really interesting. I think that's the cool thing about having a bias though and how varied it is amongst the fandom, it makes for very mixed and insightful comments, I think it would be hard to be an expert on all 7 members otherwise

I really really enjoyed watching this FESTA alongside with you Max your perspective and insight is always so fascinating. I see lots of good insight being offered about different members in the comments so I will focus on Tae with points I feel haven’t been addressed. I feel you were spot on with your talk of him trying to bring out emotions in members and liking them being honest and vulnerable with their emotions. With reference to MBTI he is an INFP. The members refer to him as the most F(Feeling) type of all of them. He is very sentimental and soft-hearted and for that reason prone to depressive periods like 2016, 2018- 2020. With Blue and Grey being written by him in the aftermath of that. When it comes to Tae and his love for ARMY… all the boys love ARMY in their own way and just as much but from what I’ve observed with Tae is that it’s truly a two way authentic bond. Just yesterday he posted after being mobbed at the airport (he asked if there were any hurt ARMY and reporters out there and that while he loves seeing army his heart hurts seeing them be hurt or fall down and that he worries every time he enters or leaves the country that they could get hurt.) He is very protective of ARMY and really values their wishes for him. Saying he wants to try what ARMY want to see him do. He recently made his debut as a guest radio DJ something he had been wanting to try for years - after an army with insomnia wrote him a letter and said that he they feel it could be healed if they heard him on the radio. Most importantly he doesn’t try to act in a specific way for ARMY. He has often said that I love that ARMY embraces all of me and accepts even my imperfections and mistakes. In his recent vogue magazine cover in the editorial about him they really summed up his relationship with ARMY well… as the one who communicates most with ARMY. He also has an honest way of communicating even calling ARMY out when he feels somethings not appropriate or when ARMY joke with him… his comebacks are very witty. (Sometimes they are mistranslated … which are then twisted and used by solo’s or anti’s and people who don’t know him to attack him. It’s truly painful to see.) He often spends long periods of time on wewerse replying to ARMY messages. He has stated many times that wewerse is a safe place for him when he is down. one of his favourite activities is reading long ARMY comments about their own life stories. He also looks at ARMY fanart and even sends fan art to members (that’s how jimins tattoo came about. Jimin talked about it on his v-live.) He also watches ARMY Vlogs and ARMY Youtube. During his vlives he is fully himself… as if hanging out with a friend… he doesn’t try to entertain ARMY with lots and lots of chat or lip service. He doesn’t try and put a mask on either same as when he doesn’t hide when he is not feeling it during group activities. He will game with ARMY or most often play music he enjoys for ARMY. He has even napped! Sometimes he will speak very little (that though also has to do with his shyness and speech issues which I will address separately.) the comments move so fast in his lives that he often won’t be able to read them so will bring out his phone and read comments from wewerse instead. When it comes to his speech it is actually something he has worked very hard on. To the point that he mostly is very eloquent now with his trade mark softly spoken way. (He is a very gentle person you could even say somewhat fragile and delicate off stage) Even in the video you saw there was a reference to TaeTae language by the editors. TaeTae language which is famous in the fandom esp in his younger days was a combination of his brain working too fast for his mouth and his nerves and shyness. Often the members would translate what he wanted to say… even Korean reactors to TaeTae language compilation clips would have trouble understanding until the members clarified. He also used to be made fun of for his regional dialect in the early days and not being able to speak properly. There is a famous video clip of Yoongi shushing the crowd who are laughing at Tae stumbling with his words and Tae getting flustered and tongue tied more at one of their ending ments during a concert. He also often has really endearing struggles during their award ceremony speeches with the most recent one being his stuttering of the word busan concert during their TMA 2022 award speech. He will often memorise long for interviews but not be able to use what he wants to say through nerves etc or only say part of what he wants to (we often get bangtan bombs or clips etc posted after where he will make the speech.) we often don’t pick up on it cause he has perfected his poker face during official events with press (again he references this in his vogue interview) his only tells I’ve observed are his hands trembling (like in the Grammy 2022 skit with Olivia R) reflexive swallowing where his neck trembles, pushing his bangs with the back of his hands and going very quiet with little to no facial expressions. For a while he also used to struggle to be heard during group discussions etc with members unintentionally talking over him and him losing the timing to enter the conversation which then made him even more flustered (there is a very good compilation by fandoms unite called Taehyung trying to speak for 3 minutes) When it comes to his relationship with his Dad and wanting to be a dad like him… he really hero worships his dad he has named him as his role model many times (he grew up mainly being taken care of by his grandma who passed sep 2016) his parents were farmers who had to work away from home. He also grew up apart from his 2 younger siblings… he would often in the early days talk of his fav memories of his dad coming to visit him on the weekend.) This is why I feel he has the relationship dynamics that he has with the older members and managers and staff where they tend to take a paternal role with him a lot, esp Hobi and RM(RM in earlier times less so now) Even Jimin who is the same age with him. Not to say that he doesn’t also take care of them in his own way with showing them lots of support and affection and gifts etc. Him and JK though tend to have an equal give and take dynamic where roles are swapped depending on the situation. JK has referred to Tae as his safe space which is why I think when you observe interviews/shows/events where they are beside each other ( I.e White House, this festa, festa 2022, Blue house, busan ambassadorship) they tend to be more comfortable and less nervous and fidgety or quiet. Outside of BTS In his other friendship groups (like the wooga squad (the show in the sooo friendcation is a great example of this) and with actor Kang dong won and singer Park Hyo Shin.) They are all much older than him and again have a very much paternal dynamic with him. Anyways I can’t believe my comment is this long…I didn’t plan it when I started. But basically Tae tends to be the member that people new to BTS or casual fans tend to misunderstand the most as they base their understanding of him only from how he is on stage. Comments on videos often focus on his looks too so new fans have little opportunity to glean information about him so he tends to be the one they figure out last personality wise - that is if they ever do figure him out. I feel like you are coming to understand him quite well. Thanks for your reaction. I always look forward to your BTS ones. 💜

Yes exactly these ones, thank you! The vlive in 2019 with Namjoon and Jimin is one of my favorites too, their dynamic is great. I like to see both lives because you can see how Jimin adapts differently when he's alone with Namjoon and when he's with another member like Tae.

I've been waiting for this one for so long, thank you. Always on point about the boys. You said you wanted to react more to their Vlives (weverse live now) and I agree, these are great content for you to analyze. I love the lives between RM & Jimin (Minimoni). There's an iconic live with them and Taehyung that is very funny and you can see that the dynamic is very different when the 95 liners are together (with Namjoon on the side). I still think that You Quiz on the Block is a great episode to analyze too, especially the full part where they get interviewed, because they haven't really opened up like this. By the way, I love your new background, the place looks so pretty and peaceful.

Yeah, it's super interesting rewatching this now that we know he was making his military plans back then. The way he got really sad looking when they talked about where they would be for Festa 2022? He was probably thinking that he wouldn't be there because the original plan was for him to go during the summer. And I wonder if the military plans is the emotional topic that got beeped out? It would fit with the timeline.

Since I just watched your initial BTS videos, I could see the big difference. When I first saw thus Festa the first thing I noticed was that Jin seemed off. He seemed like he was quiet and sad. Maybe alot was on his mind then. We know know from his last Vlive that he was wanting to go into the military back then but everything snowballed. Maybe something like that was happening and since it was festa it's kinda of like a chaper closed.

I think it's the first line of the second verse of Seesaw "How crafty the heart of a person is" (at least that's what the melody he sings sounds to me :D), but it's a theme he repeats in other songs too, like "People" (my favourite D-2 song btw :) ). I love" that about SUGA's writing :)
