I heard JL was kinda a fan of Woong Ki and upon rewatching I really noticed that he always reacts to him, hyping him up etc, its so wholesome to see.

You need to take 2 factors into account: Korean live audiances sadly always vote for a sexy concept and have positive bias towards Koreans. I dont know how many of team beats contestants are Korean, Woong Ki is, Kairi isnt, but yeah, that might explain the result. I also think beat should have 1000% won.
