I created my first job when I was eleven, selling hand-cast and painted plaster plaques and doodads door to door. Most of my favorite jobs were some form of self-employment. Now I'm 75, and I create book covers for people. :)

At 16 I worked at a summer camp as a pot washer. They had a big machine for the dishes. Pots needed to be hand scrubbed. (They offered me a week as a counselor as a break, but I told them I'd rather wash pots.) Anyway, did the same thing the next summer. I eventually worked my way into the maintenance staff, and spent a total of 15 years there. They own 300 acrea, half the lake, had an olympic sized pool. horses, archery etc, and the added bonnus that the place was really only used 3 months of the year. The rest of the time there were only 2 or 3 of us there. (Ironically, I never learned to swim, fish, ride a horse or shoot a bow. ) =-{

At 17, I was a photo lab technician at Motophoto. Funny how quickly I could say that one of my past jobs went basically obsolete.
