I think perhaps what people mean when they say “no one is talking about the protests”, and this is what I was going to comment before I heard it being discussed is, no one is talking about the protests that are happening all the time now. The Presidents’ Day ones were covered but there has been massive protests all the time for I want to say a couple weeks now. Town halls w congress people both republicans and democrats have had massive turnouts with very upset constituents too. No one is talking about it on the national level but the local news coverage are talking about it. So go watch your local news and read your local newspaper and stuff. That’s where you’ll hear about the grassroots protest and opposition.

I agree that the flash and chaos is partly planned but it's also incompetence from lack of understanding and the idea that you can run a government like a business.

Tom there have been like 7 air accidents already this past month. The FAA and ATC were already teetering on the brink before the dogebags started swinging their hammers.

As a woman who went to college in the 1990s, I was absolutely told I could be a teacher or a nurse. The university I went to was founded to teach women to be teachers and nurses. I chose teacher. I wish to anything I had made a different choice. But growing up excessively Baptist in Texas? I was funneled into the teacher pipeline. I wish I had studied computers at not a Baptist school.

I am not so sure that it’s complete incompetence or failure; it seems like the chaos is flashy and intentional; and it also seems like the agencies/departments/orgs that are deemed valuable, have qualified (albeit ideologues/loyalists) in charge of them eg Office of Management and Budget got Russell Vought of Project 2025 infamy.

Roger

Some things just have to be said.
