But now I wouldn't, mostly due to microorganisms, before boiling it. But there was a belief of "since it is directly coming from the snow on top, it is safe!". And it was so cold and refreshing, not going to lie XDDD I remember learning way later that there are products you can bring with you to purify water, such as chloride dioxide tablets I suppose it was safer than drinking it from a freaking pipe you don't even know where it is getting the water from...
