Overton Hallford

A documentary about the life of Alexander Cartwright, who was responsible for the first published rules of baseball in New York in the 1840s, then walked to San Francisco in 1849, teaching baseball to townspeople, Indian tribes and military units along the way. In SF he signed on as crew on a clipper ship taking laundry to Honolulu where he settled, becoming Fire Department chief and eventually opposing the annexation of Hawaii by the US.
