2023-12-03 18:09:40 +0000 UTCI worked in auto underwriting for a massive insurance company. Part of my job was evaluating transcripts to verify the student qualified for a good student discount. I have seen some decidedly wacky transcripts. I considered anything patriotic or tangentially related to Christianity in a school name a red flag, especially if followed by the word “Academy.’ It almost always turned out to be a homeschooling transcript, which we did not accept. Homeschoolers had to submit a standardized test score of some sort to get the discount. The homeschooling transcripts rarely had grades less than a B. The vast majority of grades I saw were in the A range … which is why we only took standardized test scores for homeschoolers.
