I don't think that email was from an actual listener. It reminded me too much of the right-wing trolls who would call in to a liberal radio show and say "well, as a liberal small business owner myself (insert talking point)" back when radio was a thing.

I doubt that the guy who sent the email was even a real listener. It could have been a Maga troll pretending to be a leftist, or it could have been a an actual leftist who is a victim of Russian propaganda, or it could have been an actual Russian propagandist. Point is, the letter sounded way sus, and I don't trust anyone who says stuff like that. Your long term listeners know you too well to say something like that.

This house member who was threatening to fight the CEO who was appearing before the committee as a witness is so out of his depth -- and his childish actions show his weak hand. You need to know what forum you are in, and what it means to respond with power in that arena. Imagine you're watching a chess match. I don't know much about chess, but if I see one player keep threatening that he can beat up the other player in the parking lot once the match is over... Meanwhile, his opponent just keeps calmly moving his pieces, watching the board and carefully considering his next moves as physical threats escalate.. I don't need to see the conclusion of the game to know who the better chess player is. By threatening to escalate outside of the bounds of the game, you show that you don't know how to win the game you're already playing. Same deal with this jagoff in the house.

I truly appreciated your thoughtful explanation about why you are not commenting on the Gaza situation. Even if I disagreed with your opinion on a topic, I would continue to support the show because you guys are the best and no one agrees about everything. Also, it only benefits republicans and Putin to have liberals fighting with each other about this issue. Thanks for all you do.

I can’t help but agree. I have thoughts and feelings about the conflict, but I just don’t feel qualified to really have a hot take. I’ve done a ton of reading on it, from various different angles, and every time I feel like I might be starting to understand, I pull on another thread and it opens a whole new can of worms. All I’m comfortable saying is I want to see peace in the region and an end to innocent lives being lost. Maybe that makes me a cowardly centrist shitlib, but whatever.

eMails threatening "If you don't do what I say I'm taking my toys and going home" only can be responded to by saying, "Go home then". Life isn't kindergarten. People like this need to grow the fuck up. Their parents failed to teach them that the world owes them nothing as it was here first. What a perfect moment to say, "Go fuck yourself". I respect your choice to not talk about this situation. Speaking from ignorance is a useless option adding to noise and is not useful so STFU unless you learn context and history. I still can't get past the women flying a Taliban flag with no hijab, makeup, and speaking out without their male guardians present and giving permission. If you want the Taliban then move to Afganistan and see how long you will live shooting your mouth off like you are. This person's email is the same. Ignorance is as ignorance does.

I also feel like Tom doesn't want to lose his day job, and I don't blame him. It's very dangerous to have any strong opinion other than "Israel can do whatever it wants". I totally get that and respect that.

I appreciate the dialogue you two had at the beginning of the show. One of top reasons why I listen and respect you is because there have been times before when you've come forward and said that you don't know enough about a topic and instructed the listeners to go seek out the experts. Thank you for your honesty and transparency. This is just one of the many reasons why I listen and support the show

I no longer hesitate calling trump a fascist
