Public Message About Future Plans

Hello everybody,

If you are a patron, you have already seen this message. This one is for any non-patron.

This is a message for all of the wonderful Schmoedown patrons that have been with us. Whether it was day one or you just joined, your support has really kept the show thriving over the years. From the moment we created the Patreon, this has been an absolute staple of the Schmoedown - as much as myself, Mark, the competitors, or anyone else. You’ve supported us and kept us going for many years. As you all know, we have announced that season nine is the final season of the Movie Trivia Schmoedown. The pandemic hit us harder than we thought it would and unfortunately, we were not able to sustain the show at the level which was needed to keep it going further.

We wanted to give everyone here on Patreon advanced notice on how we plan to carry on with the SEN brand and the Patreon going forward. We will continue current Schmoedown benefits through July and August, including early access and Star Wars matches, along with the Q&A’s. After Friday Night Titans ends August 5th, the early preview will switch to early access for that Friday’s full match.

On September 1st, this Patreon will officially become The Big Thing Patreon. All of the tiers from the current SEN Patreon will transfer over here, including access to SEN Live, bonus Big Thing Rewatch episodes, Special Q&As, exclusive livestreams, and more. (The current SEN Patreon will close down on 8/31). We hope you stick around after this change, but if you no longer wish to support the show on Patreon please at least check out the content I’m publishing daily over at my channel.

Since we made the announcement about MTS, many people have been asking what they can do to support these shows. There are many ways to do so: a simple option is to like, comment, and share the videos we release. If you can, subscribe to our podcast feeds on Apple or Spotify and leave a review if you can, it helps tremendously as we try to grow our audience.

If you want to continue your pledge and help support the show through Patreon, you can stay right here – we will be opening a dialogue here very soon to find out what content and perks you’d like to see on this Patreon after the transition. The goal is to make this Patreon an active community like it was back when we began it in 2017.

Again, from the bottom of my heart, from Mark Ellis, and the entire team, thank you so much for everything that you have done for us. When I took the Schmoedown from Collider, it was just myself, Mark and our very small staff. It was your support that made live events possible, alongside the studio matches, and helped us get to a place where we could compensate our players and grow our crew. It was because of all of you, and I cannot thank you enough for everything that you have done for us. Ellis and I have always been very proud of the strong Schmoeville community we started way back in 2008, and it stands tall today. I cannot wait for you all to see what we have planned for Spectacular!
