My Cage "Classic" 08/31/2008
Added 2022-02-27 17:19:41 +0000 UTCI would love to write a musical. Sadly, I have no musical skills or training. My dream picks would be either "Action Adventure: The Musical!" from this strip, or a musical based on the 1980's 'Flash Gordon' musical.

Sometimes I think back to the strange puppet opera Jason Segal dreamed of doing in the Judd Apatow comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It sounded terrible, like it wouldn't work--but then absolutely did. I loved Rent, and I love Hamilton, even though it's a little uncool to admit now that they are both in full throes of backlash. A well-done, intelligent musical that brings in a fresh element is a uniquely wonderful thing.
