When I was growing up comics like Dondi, Abbie and Slats, Henry, The Little King, Smokey Stover, Rick O'Shay (the only real western cartoon I remember), Potsie the Cop, Winnie Winkle and a dozen or more others that didn't have the fan power of the Pogos and the Peanuts strips were all running daily. Others are still current and daily, Beetle Bailey, Dick Tracy, Blondie, Hi and Lois, (BTW, Beetle Bailey was spun off of Hi and Lois. Beetle is Lois's brother. They still reference that on occasion) , the Phantom and Nancy, to name a few. Even Mark Trail was recently overhauled and updated. Still nature oriented, but with more comic elements. Oh, if anybody follows the Strange Brew strip, it looks to me as if they color it using crayons. Not complaining. It gives it a kind of unique look. Just wondering why they chose to do it that way.

2021-12-06 05:33:47 +0000 UTCI read the newspaper comics for some entertainment growing up, so I actually get these references and I'm only 30. Guess I'm once again the oddity. Oh well.
