I have a thought on grace and not burning possible allies. that sc state rep that voted for the abortion bill, then in committee very publicly said he was wrong not only did not vote against a modified bill making things worse he voted "present", he did the same thing on the floor. I can't see anyone as an "ally" if you caused a problem, repented your beliefs and changed your mind, but still don't do anything to fix the problem you caused. it's just like these republicans who admit that yeah the party did some bad shit but don't do anything to actively fix the problem they caused. this is something that I don't see at all similar to cecil. cecil used to believe in that stuff. but he changed his mind and is doing something to help fix a problem he (directly or indirectly) helped push. this republican asshole is just saying stuff and hoping his words are just good enough without action behind them just like about every christian who thinks repenting and belief in christ is all that's required without the works.

Anyone else remember when the CIA admitted dozens of their operatives were compromised?
Sounds alot like the sort of information Trump had/has.

The security clearance thing, yeah, ya pretty well nailed it with the need to know even if you are cleared for it. Aussie here but I'd be shocked if it was substantially different in the US. I was a comms tech in the Navy so I had to have a fairly high security clearance.
Not that I ever actually sat down and read a Top Secret thing and it woulda been big smacks (read jail time) if I had. But I had to be in the room to maintain the gear. So I might see something. Gigantic pain in the arse to get a TS clearance, took about 6 months and annoyed my very liberal father when he had to be interviewed so I could get it.
The very last thing I did on my last day was have a 5 minute, literally, chat with the boss. That came down to : 'You didn't see shit. If you did see shit, you will never tell anyone about it. If you tell anyone it is a 20 year jail sentence. And we will never, ever, stop chasing you. Sign here, good luck waking up as a civilian tomorrow'. Trump = yikes and I would open the bidding at treason, just for this thing.

Tom, that is my nightmare. I can't sit still for meetings I don't need to contribute to much, either.
