You're right, I remember the Volvo commercials. They talked about the safety features and ended with, "I bought a Volvo because my family's safety is important to me." As his kids were getting into the car. Prior to that the auto lobby fought safety measures because any safety feature was deemed to admit that cars weren't safe. What did they think would happen? People would stop driving cars? To further demonstrate the auto industries commitment to the bottom line over safety, GM knew a car they manufactured could explode if there was in impact in the right location. It was deemed that a recall was more expensive (million$) than dealing with a few lawsuits ($100K). Turns out they had one lawsuit and the internal memos came out. The award was $5Billion, the value of the company at that time. It was since reduced. If human life is not economically viable, it has to go.

I live half an hour from Cape Canaveral. I was up at 3am this morning to watch the Atlas 5 launch. It is atheist hallowed ground. If you haven't been back to KSC since the shuttles were flying then it has been too long. Space Shuttle Atlantis is on display and it almost brings me to tears to be so near it.

Glory Hole πŸ•³ Hi πŸ‘‹ Tom, I saw NASA's Columbia, I believe, Launch from Cape Canaveral when I was like 12 teen. It was one of the most awesome things I've ever seen! The roaring sound of the engines. The anticipation of lift off with everyone around all counting down. It's always an amazing event when a rocket Launch happens. I would love to see the new Falcon rocket Launch. I would also live to see the 1st stage landing. Every time I see it. I am absolutely amazed by how they've made it able to land right in the center of the bullseye 🎯 almost every time, even in the dark! πŸ’šβ€πŸ’™

@TOM - I have GERD and was taking omeprazole every day for about 5 years. I stopped when I had to go to the hospital twice for pissing blood. It turns out that omeprazole can cause serious damage to your kidneys over time. I haven't had any issues since I stopped taking it, but one telltale sign is if you have to use the restroom, but nothing comes out, and it feels like you almost have a UTI...over and over again at random for months.
