I love the earnest enthusiasm of "Then go home and change into a BUTTON-DOWN shirt!" I'm charmed by how office-specific and gender-neutral that kind of dressing up is. My dressing up usually does not include a button-down shirt. Sometimes it includes a dress, but being instructed to wear one wouldn't have the doofily sweet ring that Norm's announcement does here. I always prefer a small local restaurant to a chain, but I will say that this long in lockdown has made me crave things that have never been my style--mall shopping! Chain restaurants!--and stuff I left behind long ago, like bars (too dark and loud and tiring, childcare too impractical). I've heard it speculated that the 2020s will be like the Roaring Twenties, and I absolutely believe it because I'm certain I will be part of it.
