Added 2021-02-22 14:37:05 +0000 UTCAt first the Superman pun was supposed to be 'Supermutt' but the syndicate thought no one would get what we were spoofing. Later I would make the pun Superdoberman. Of course it was all based on DC Comics' character Super Squirrel, which I always thought sounded more like Supergirl.

Growing up in NYC, and before the incursion of the Starbuck's Universe into ours, Norm's order would have been "coffee regular". I'm old enough to remember getting fresh ground Red Circle Coffee from the A&P and percolating it on the stove. Before creamer was a thing, my grandfather used to put evaporated milk in his. I still do this sometimes. It occasionally comes to me that Doug Adams' key to the universe could just have easily been "coffee regular" as "42".
