My Cage "Classsic" 07/24/2007

I hear the voice of Tigger from Winnie the Pooh when I hear Max's voice. Is that weird?

Paul Winchell was the original voice of Tigger - spoken and sung. Also the voice of Jerry Mahoney, his ventriloquism dummy, and Dick Dastardly and so many other characters! I LOVE Paul Winchell, and miss his presence still.

Yeah, I kinda forgot Norm. I was torn between George Wendt and Drew Carey (George Wendigo and Drew Carrion?:)) I think I'd go with Drew though. They have similar jobs and dispositions. And they're both surrounded by wacky friends and coworkers. They're both good at their jobs, but frustrated by the company they work for. Norm, ironically, is luckier in love than Carey's character was. (If it turns out that Drew Carey was the inspiration for My Cage, I'm good with that. I mean, hell, they've been turning our comic book and comic strip characters into live action movies for years, turnabout would only be fair.)

I hear Dabney Coleman, or the guy who played Mr Drysdale on Beverly Hillbillies. That being sad, I've noticed a (minor) trend in the remarks lately as to who the characters sound like, or who we'd cast to voice them. So, using living actors, (or any living celebrity) , who would we cast as our illustrious heroes? (I earlier said I hear Selma Diamond as Violet, which obviously wouldn't work) But I think either Fran Dresher or Judge Judy would make a good Violet. Max, Dabney Coleman, or William Shatner. Jeff, Jason Alexander. Ashley, Mila Kunis. Evil Mary Poppins, Julie Kavner. Bridget, Yeardly Smith. Rex, Donald Trump. Creepy Janitor Guy, Bob Dylan.

I hear Don Rickles.

Speaking of Winnie the Pooh voices... Remember the original Star Trek episode Wolf in the Fold, with Jack the Ripper (technically, a modern person being possessed by the same alien that possessed Jack the Ripper)? The guy playing Jack the Ripper was the voice of Piglet! What could Norm do with that little factoid?
