As it stands, he sounds uncertain that Norm did. Also, I didn't get that Max meant they should be afraid for Norm's kid, rather than that Norm took off for two weeks for his kid. BTW, while LotF did include a pig's head on a stick, it wasn't a symbol of authority. The conch was.
