For the first two years I started drawing the My Cage comic strips, they were drawn and inked on paper. They were then scanned into the computer for clean up, lettering, and color. After hundreds of sheets of paper started piling up around the house, I decided to draw the comic strips directly on the computer using a Wacom tablet. If you followed the strip closely, you might be able to notice where I started transitioning from paper to digital.
Recently, after drawing the new My Cage series, I found myself going back to paper to sketch out new characters, designs, and organize strips.
The above sketches are this months comics drawn with a red ball point pen on paper. Drawing on paper is the easiest and fastest way for me to layout the panels and scribble in the dialogue. Unfortunately since I've been drawing directly on the computer I don't have a working scanner and have to take crappy photos with my phone camera. Ha.
More sketches soon!
