Murph Designs - Murph 1 [Don't Share]

Hey everyone, here is Homero and I am the creator of the Mirph-1 headphones. Nice to meet you all! Thank you Zeos for covering them, this all started as a passion project during the early pandemic days, and it is finally becoming a real product. I just want to clarify a few things about the headphones. The model in the video is an early version, I made several iterations until it came to this point, so this is somewhat an alpha version of Mirph-1. The final product will be very similar, with some cosmetic changes: - The earcups in this one are made of wood-filled PLA, I was back then toying with the idea of using real wood so I made this as a visual test. The problem is that I do not have easy access to wood turning services here in Munich and do not have space in my small apartment for a wood lathe, so I will be using the same industrial-grade plastic as you already see in the earpad mount. - I am working with several suppliers to help me produce parts for this headphone professionally. All metal parts seen here will be CNC machined aluminum, the earcup parts are made of industrial grade plastic with a black spattered finish, the headband is made of real leather and comes from Portugal, and as Zeos says here I am working with different earpads to fine tune their sound. Currently I am testing a new model from Dekoni which is angled and has half the height of the normal LCD pads as seen in the video, and it indeed improves on that that shout characteristic it has sometimes. - The final cable is on the website, it will be braided, silver coated, 1.5 m long and using 3.5mm connectors. - The back in this one was indeed coming off easily My goal was to make a headphone that has a "vintage modern / old school" vibe, but without compromising on build quality. Again, the one in the video is an alpha version 3D printed by me, but the final product will have parts made by manufacturers I am partnering with, and assembled here in Munich.
