This post will be about some of the gameplay features I plan to implement in Cursed. One of the purposes of this game is to learn by trial-and-error, so expect the actual execution of some of these to be fairly rough or perhaps even an outright failure. With that optimistic and inspiring intro out of the way, here are some of the ideas.
Dungeons:
- Interactive solutions. Every so often you'll come across a problem in a dungeon that Thea will have to solve to continue on or to open up new paths: find the materials to build a bridge, find a way to open up a cracked wall, disable traps, craft a raft, and so on. Basically puzzles, just more grounded in reality and less "why the hell did the architect make it so this door can only open after rearranging mirrors".
- Non-combat routes. While some dungeons will be your standard fare of just fighting monsters and solving puzzles until you reach the end others will have different ways to get through them. In some, like the bandit hideout, Thea can enter solo and try to sneak through, offering up sex to be let go if caught. In another Thea can try to blend in with the staff and make her way to her goal that way, interacting with the guards and other staff, doing what she has to not arouse suspicion. You'll also be able to take a companion and just fight your way through, too.
- Camping. In regular combat focused dungeons you'll be able to find a camping spot to rest and interact with the companion you brought along.
Companions:
- Story arc routes. My idea for companion's stories is that there'll be two routes you can take them down. With Hadley, for example, Thea can encourage his current soft and nice demeanor, to continue to be selfless and help others, or she can harden him to become more selfish and cold. Each route will also give different gameplay bonuses to the companion (i.e. different combat abilities and stat buffs).
- Dungeon help. Different companions can help make different problems easier. Tane and Xun are more like rogues, so they can help make traps easier to disarm while Miraki and Hadley are stronger, so they can help knock down cracked walls or move objects. They'll also offer their opinions during events. You can only have one companion in your party at a time.
Other Stuff:
- Thea's abilities: Since Thea's curse is succubus related, she'll gain power via sexual acts. All abilities she learns through regular level-ups will be physical whereas magic ones she'll have to unlock through a separate system. In 'safe' spots (i.e. her bedroom or a camp site) she'll be able to spend her sexual points on unlocking new abilities. For people that want to play as a pure virgin I'm thinking of giving her a buff and useful abilities like a mass heal and remedy that she'll only have so long as she remains a virgin, although I'm having a hard time thinking of a story justification for the virgin stuff.
- Requests: These will be mini-quests for Thea to earn money. She can either take up standard guild jobs or some NPCs will directly request something. Enemies won't drop money and you won't find money just laying around, so this'll be the main way of earning coin.

For those interested, アドゥスタ海の孤島 / The island of the Adusta Sea is what I'm completely ripping off- I mean taking inspiration from for the stealth and puzzle stuff. I doubt they'll be as polished in mine, though. Virgin Island and SC Garden's hentai RPGs are also big sources of inspiration for me, with the former having a complete English fan translation if anyone wants to play it, and I think at least two of SC Garden's games have translations.
As for the attached renders below, the first waitress picture is what I was originally going to go with. The costume is a bit more... sensible and more like what a normal person would wear, however it had a lot of problems with Thea's boobs and butt constantly poking through the clothes, especially in any poses that weren't just simple standing ones. The second waitress outfit is a lot more risque but didn't give me as many problems and it also includes various morphs for stages of undress, which will be helpful in scenes. She'll only wear this in the tavern when she's working.
The casual outfit is what she'll wear during scenes taking place in her home, so mostly scenes with Theo and Alcander. I'll do another Patrons post with two nude renders of Thea. Patreon can be weird with NSFW public images, even if the account is an adult oriented one.
I put the images in attachments because they're 4K. All the image hosting sites downgrade them, even if I select the options for them not to.
Lastly, the next SWAK update is still on track for a release on the 30th.
