I so wish this had bluetooth. Your suggestion to pair with an EarStudio is a good one. I'll try that.

2019-04-06 18:43:31 +0000 UTCA thx amp is going to sound better, plain and simple. However, how much better is dependent on how revealing your iem/headphones are to the source. If they cost >$300 or so, then the gains might not be apparent. If they cost $2000, then its a different story. But I would say in most cases its not worth it.

I've found that those are the ones (at least the ones that my budget allows) that I end up grabbing--this one included. I'd been debating on a portable DAC/AMP for a while, but I think you've ended it with this baby (I can remove them all from my Amazon cart now). Thanks a lot for spending my hard earned dollars again, you do it quite well!! :-)

2019-04-04 14:43:01 +0000 UTCThe Fiio a5 has an output of 150mw@300ohms, the THX is 46mw@300ohms, I use the dragonfly as my portable dac, so i have no use for a amp/dac. The THX accepts 2 volt line in, the Fiio accepts up to 8 volt input. I still feel like i want this but on paper it really has nothing to offer me, unless someone can enlighten me.
